How well to CEC tents stand up to WIND?

Hi Thomas, thanks for your email

While we don't have specific wind testing data for you, we can say that the tents in our Premium tent range are structurally better suited for strong wind conditions due to their:
1. pole set up and structure
2. large tent stakes at all major stress points
3. secure webbing straps and guy lines
*NOTE: take the extra time to carefully and thoroughly assemble your tent to ensure a more stable structure in the long run

Some models may be more aero dynamic than others such as the Ajax 12 person tent - have a look at this one, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask me

I am very interested in your tents and the only question I have is how well do you rate them in high winds. I spend most of my time in Colorado. Anyone who has spent anytime there can tell you, the wind storms can be unreal. Any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

CEC FAQ: Removable tent floors and other tent features

Hi James, thanks for your email

1. the removable ground sheet in the living area makes it easier to clean the tent because it is broken down into individual components - this is the case in the Discovery tent - all of the sleeping pods are separate and have a fully sewn in tub style floor

2. other tents in the same BIG Family tent category have a fully sewn in tent so they are not removable and there is little chance of any bugs getting entering - this is the case with tents like the Osiris tent and ALL of the tents in the Premium tent category

3. Each of our tents have mesh vents with covers for increased air circulation in addition to PVC windows to let light in  that also include full fabric covers to close them off when you want some privacy or darkness

4. With some of the tents in the BIG Family tent category, you assemble the rain fly first and then add the inner sleeping pods and the removable ground sheet in the living area - this type of modular design is originally from Europe and suitable for dryer climates - the benefit here is that you can set up the rain fly separately to have a large open floor shelter which increase the functional properties the tent

Hope this answers your questions but if you have any more, please let us know!

I am looking at 2 models for possible purchase. The Osiris and Discovery. Question on the floor: Discover I see has removable floor in middle. Can this area still be sleeping area with floor in (are bugs getting an a problem?) Also it says add or remove sleeping rooms. Does this mean I can shrink the footprint if it is too big or does that just refer to the room separator sheets? Lastly, is the Osiris floor all sewn in? It says that but then the next line says "Removable". Thanks for your help. Oh wait, 1 more: Are the windows all mesh? They look like clear plastic in the pics but that could just be the pic.
